About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential client in the retail technology sector who is seeking an Intermediate Test Engineer to join their quality assurance team. This is a contractor position based in Poland, working on a mature Point of Sale platform that serves retail and restaurant businesses globally. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams across the US and Europe to ensure the reliability and usability of complex software and hardware solutions.
Responsibilities
- Execute manual testing of applications across web, Windows, Android, and iOS platforms
- Perform REST API testing and validate system integrations
- Verify new features, enhancements, and bug fixes to ensure reliable performance
- Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution
- Create, maintain, and update test cases, test plans, and other QA documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support quality throughout the entire software development lifecycle
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in software testing with a focus on manual testing
- Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and SDLC/STLC
- Hands-on experience testing web applications
- Practical experience with REST API testing using Postman or similar tools
- Experience creating, executing, and maintaining test cases and documentation
- Strong understanding of defect management, bug life cycle, and bug types
- Hands-on experience with Jira
- Intermediate+ English level for daily communication with global teams and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset and experience working closely with cross-functional teams
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience testing mobile applications (Android/iOS)
- Experience testing POS systems and hardware peripherals
- Experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or retail technology industry
- Understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Kanban
