- Adhere to strict infection control, biohazard safety, and Universal Precautions
- Communicate with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and provide reassurance
- Keep phlebotomy equipment, supplies, and collection stations organized and stocked
- Respond to stat and routine collection requests throughout Flower Hospital
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Current phlebotomy certification or licensure as required by Ohio regulations
- Demonstrated proficiency with venipuncture and capillary collection techniques
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to specimen integrity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with diverse patients
- Physical capability to stand extended periods and perform repetitive tasks safely
- Ability to work calmly under pressure in an acute hospital environment
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems and medical terminology preferred
