About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential electric mobility organization at a critical growth phase. This is a rare opportunity to join as a Senior Industrialisation Engineer, working at the intersection of advanced R&D and scalable manufacturing for battery systems and power electronics. You'll take ownership of transforming functional prototypes into production-ready, high-yield products built for safety-critical applications.
Based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, you'll work hands-on with contract manufacturers to architect assembly lines, eliminate design-for-manufacturing risks, and drive production from pilot batches to stable mass output. If you're energized by shop-floor problem-solving and bringing complex electromechanical systems to life, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Review post-prototype designs to identify and eliminate mechanical tolerance stack-ups and assembly risks before tooling investment
- Optimize design, sourcing, and validation of mechanical assembly jigs, cell-alignment fixtures, gluing fixtures, and laser-welding beds for repeatability and operator safety
- Collaborate directly with contract manufacturers to release assembly line setups, resolve technical bottlenecks, and transition pilot runs into high-yield mass production
- Conduct hands-on Design of Experiments on the lab and factory floor to establish locked process windows for automated gluing, thermal interface material dispensing, and torque specifications
- Co-own build failures with manufacturing partners to rapidly implement engineering adjustments and improve first-pass yields
- Oversee end-of-line failures, analyze root causes, and implement solutions to continuously improve production yield
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience as an Industrialization, Manufacturing, or NPI Engineer, specifically scaling battery modules/packs, power electronics enclosures, or high-reliability electromechanical systems (up to 10–30k units)
- Deep technical expertise in mechanical production processes, failure analysis, and semi-automated production methods
- Hands-on workshop mentality: comfortable on the shop floor, personally assembling hardware to diagnose bottlenecks or tearing down units to isolate defects
- Strong ability to navigate, interpret, and evaluate 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for design-for-manufacturing reviews
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical failure data into actionable engineering changes
- Project management capability to coordinate complex tasks across internal design teams and external contract manufacturers, with the confidence to audit and challenge CM industrialization teams
- Fluency in English required; German language skills are a strong plus
