(Senior) Consultant* – Payments Transformation

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential financial services organization seeking a Senior Consultant to support payments transformation initiatives. In this role, you will:

• Support demanding consulting projects in the payments environment—from business analysis and functional design through testing and implementation support
• Contribute to transformation projects involving modern payment architectures, regulatory requirements, and innovative payment solutions
• Collaborate with clients and project teams in both traditional waterfall projects and agile delivery environments
• Take ownership of specific subject areas, including management of sub-projects and smaller project teams
• Actively participate in internal initiatives and support professional, methodological, and personal development within the team

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Successfully completed university degree
• Relevant practical experience in consulting projects within the financial services sector
• Strong interest in payments along with knowledge of relevant topics and processes such as PSD3/PSR, SEPA-Classic, Instant Payments, TARGET2, TIPS, Clearing & Settlement, Cash Management, or Correspondent Banking
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills with a team-oriented and client-focused approach
• Fluent German and English language skills, with unrestricted mobility for national and international project assignments

Preferred experience:

• Experience in business analysis, functional design, testing, or cut-over activities within payments transformation projects
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the payments environment, such as PSD3 or PSR
• Experience with agile methods or hybrid project approaches
• Understanding of modern payment architectures, APIs, or digital payment models
• Initial experience managing smaller work packages or sub-projects
