Senior Product Manager, Data Infrastructure

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology organization with a global footprint in the home services sector. We're seeking a Senior Product Manager to steward the product direction of their Data Infrastructure platform—the foundation every data team, engineer, analyst, and increasingly AI agent depends on for orchestration, ingestion, governed access, and shared data truth.

This is a hybrid role based in Berlin, Germany, working closely with Data Engineering delivery teams and agentic workflow builders toward a unified technical strategy.

Responsibilities

• Manage governed platform access, giving engineers, analysts, and services safe, auditable access to shared data while making the safe path the easy path
• Streamline orchestration and scheduling by consolidating fragmented tools into one system teams reach for by default, leveraging AI-assisted tooling to accelerate migrations
• Drive data ingestion and replication strategy, defining what self-service ingestion looks like for teams bringing their own data onto the platform
• Oversee legacy system retirement with clear ownership handoff at every step
• Optimize compute cost efficiency by identifying where cost stems from habit rather than real need, reducing expense without sacrificing developer experience
• Advance compute strategy diversification, moving toward a storage layer compatible with multiple compute engines so each workload runs on the engine built for it
• Build the platform's AI-ready substrate, making agentic workflows safe by default with the same governed access and audit trail for agents as for people
• Use AI agents in daily work and set clear norms so engineers and peers feel safe experimenting with agents and agentic workflows
• Protect team focus and drive rigor without micromanaging, stewarding outcomes rather than tasks
• Build trust across engineering, domain teams, and leadership through empathetic, transparent communication when addressing complex challenges

What We're Looking For

• Five or more years of product management experience on a data or infrastructure platform team, directly stewarding technical roadmaps
• Comfort reading system architecture and pipeline dependencies well enough to make real sequencing calls with engineering
• A track record of taking cross-team migrations and retirements all the way to completion, not just to a plan
• Transparency about areas of growth and openness to learning, rather than presenting incomplete information as fully resolved under pressure
• Experience weighing compute cost against performance and developer experience, driving tradeoff decisions rather than just planning around them (preferred)
• Working knowledge of how AI agents consume data and tools differently from people, and judgment on when a vendor's own agent layer already covers a need (preferred)
• A proactive approach to navigating and understanding new technical systems, key contacts, and open questions independently (preferred)
