About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software consultancy specializing in generative AI and production-grade AI systems. Our client has been delivering custom AI infrastructure—model serving, agent gateways, chat, and voice solutions—for enterprise clients across German-speaking markets since the late 1990s.

We are seeking a Senior AI Architect & Consultant to join their team in München. This role combines hands-on technical leadership with client-facing responsibility: you'll design AI architectures at the C-level, then guide implementation teams through to production deployment. You'll work with cutting-edge LLM frameworks, agentic AI systems, and MLOps infrastructure in real enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect AI solutions for complex enterprise projects using LLMs, agentic RAG, and AI agent frameworks (LangGraph, PydanticAI, Mastra, OpenAI Agents SDK, or similar)
• Build evaluation pipelines and observability infrastructure using tools like LangSmith or Langfuse
• Work with modern MLOps stacks and vector databases to deploy deep-agent architectures into production
• Create solution architectures that address security, compliance, scalability, and data privacy requirements from initial concept through roadmap
• Lead technical deep-dive calls and workshops with clients, advancing projects through each phase
• Support pre-sales activities by providing technical credibility and translating architectural concepts for decision-makers
• Communicate confidently at C-level, connecting technical excellence with business impact and economic objectives
• Spend approximately 50% of your time in client projects (more during intensive phases), with remaining time dedicated to pre-sales conversations, workshop preparation, and strategic support
• Travel 4–8 days per month to client sites and team locations within Germany, with occasional travel to Austria and Switzerland

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience as an architect or senior engineer, ideally within a consultancy or IT services environment
• Project experience implementing agentic AI beyond prototypes: production deployment with LangChain, LangGraph, and deep agents—or comparable depth in TypeScript environments (Mastra) or Microsoft ecosystems (Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework, Azure AI Foundry)
• Experience with vector databases and MLOps is a strong plus
• Ability to explain AI concepts and architectures to clients in clear, practical terms
• Strong presentation skills with the ability to sketch solutions during client conversations and tell compelling technical stories
• Confidence engaging with C-level executives, understanding their priorities, and translating technical concepts into business value
• Fluent German (C1 or higher) and conversational English proficiency
• Willingness to travel regularly within German-speaking markets
