Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, NA

Vantagedc is seeking a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Port Washington, Wisconsin. In this full-time role, you'll architect, deploy, and manage critical infrastructure systems that support our data center operations and enterprise clients across North America.

Role Overview

As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer at Vantagedc, you'll take ownership of complex infrastructure projects from design through deployment and ongoing optimization. This is a hands-on technical leadership position where you'll solve real-world infrastructure challenges, mentor junior engineers, and directly impact the reliability and performance of mission-critical systems. You'll work with enterprise-grade technologies, collaborate across teams, and drive continuous improvement in how we deliver infrastructure services to our clients.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise IT infrastructure systems and network architectures
• Oversee infrastructure projects including planning, technical specification, deployment, and validation
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure problems and implement sustainable solutions
• Manage virtualization platforms, storage systems, and server environments
• Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, standards, and best practices
• Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand infrastructure requirements
• Mentor and guide junior infrastructure staff and share technical knowledge
• Monitor system performance and capacity, recommending infrastructure improvements

Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or systems administration
• Strong expertise with virtualization technologies, server platforms, and data center operations
• Proficiency with networking infrastructure, firewalls, and security technologies
• Experience managing storage systems, backup solutions, and disaster recovery
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure models
• Proven track record designing and implementing large-scale infrastructure projects
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and documentation abilities
• Relevant certifications (CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent) are a plus
