About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential global HR technology organization seeking a Senior Specialist, Employee Relations for their EMEA operations. This role supports the delivery of compliant, high-quality HR services across multiple international jurisdictions, with a primary focus on managing employee exits and providing first-level employee relations guidance.
The position is fully remote and open to candidates based in Portugal, Poland, France, or the Czech Republic. You'll work as part of a globally distributed team operating asynchronously across time zones.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Manage end-to-end employee offboarding processes across multiple EMEA jurisdictions, ensuring legal compliance and excellent customer service
- Provide expert guidance on termination, resignation, transfer procedures, employment contracts, and redundancy processes
- Lead and facilitate sensitive meetings including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and termination discussions
- Navigate complex terminations involving multiple stakeholders with competing interests, negotiating positive outcomes
- Coordinate with internal teams (payroll, legal, benefits) and external parties (government bodies, trade unions, legal counsel) to ensure compliant offboarding
- Draft and administer termination documentation with strict attention to detail, privacy, and confidentiality requirements
- Process offboarding activities in HR systems, collaborating across customer success, legal, payroll, and benefits teams
- Conduct preliminary assessment of workplace concerns and employee relations matters
- Guide clients through progressive disciplinary approaches and documentation requirements
- Monitor ongoing employee relations cases and coordinate appropriate resources
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and enhanced customer experiences
What We're Looking For
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Proven experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner with generalist HR competencies across the employee lifecycle
- Strong background managing both voluntary and involuntary employee exits with sensitivity and legal compliance
- Demonstrated ability to provide HR guidance on employment laws and regulations across various jurisdictions
- Capability to interpret industrial instruments, analyze complex HR issues, and provide practical solutions in ambiguous environments
- Basic understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline, and workplace investigation fundamentals
- Excellent communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills
- Ability to confidently lead difficult conversations while maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality
- Business-level (advanced) proficiency in written and spoken English; additional European languages are a plus
- Strong aptitude for process optimization, automation, and championing best practices
- Efficiency in operations with attention to thorough record-keeping and data integrity
- Tech-savvy with ability to collaborate asynchronously using various digital tools
- Demonstrated AI fluency and strong automation capabilities
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, asynchronous, remote environment with multiple priorities
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed across EMEA time zones
- Proactive, self-motivated approach with strong ownership and accountability
