Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to architectural design of complex systems, collaborating with team members on technical decisions and system requirements
• Develop high-quality, scalable, and efficient Java and PL/SQL code that meets project requirements and adheres to established coding standards
• Review code developed by team members and provide constructive feedback to maintain quality standards
• Conduct research to identify optimal technologies and architectures for new projects, staying current with industry trends
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests, identify and resolve software defects, and manage the deployment process
• Configure and maintain development and testing environments, troubleshooting environment-related issues as they arise
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including design documents, test specifications, and integration reports
• Mentor junior developers and provide guidance to enhance their technical skills in a collaborative team environment
• Communicate with clients to understand requirements and provide technical support, ensuring high-quality solution delivery
• Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in code reviews to continuously enhance development practices

What We're Looking For

• Intermediate-level experience in software development with strong proficiency in Java and PL/SQL
• Proven ability to contribute to system architecture and design decisions for complex applications
• Experience with software testing methodologies, including unit and integration testing
• Solid understanding of development environment configuration and maintenance
• Strong technical documentation skills with attention to detail and clarity
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to a positive team culture
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and stakeholder reporting
• Commitment to following development standards, best practices, and industry regulations
• Self-motivated approach to continuous learning and professional development
• Must be authorized to work in South Africa
