Senior Buyer / Einkäufer Stahlbau (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential industrial manufacturing organization in their search for a Senior Buyer specializing in steel construction materials. In this role, you will:

• Develop and implement commodity strategies for steel products including sheets, profiles, forged parts, and castings
• Analyze national and international procurement markets to identify opportunities and trends
• Select, qualify, and develop supplier relationships to ensure quality and reliability
• Independently negotiate framework agreements, pricing, and commercial terms
• Conduct cost analyses and identify savings opportunities across the supply base
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams
• Manage supply chain risks including availability, price volatility, and geopolitical factors
• Support make-or-buy decisions with data-driven recommendations
• Resolve escalations within the supply chain to maintain business continuity

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a strategic procurement professional with deep expertise in industrial materials:

• Completed degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing, ideally within industrial or related sectors
• Genuine curiosity and passion for technical products and business relationships
• Confident presence and strong negotiation skills with proven ability to achieve results
• Experience working with international suppliers across diverse markets
• Proficiency with ERP systems (such as SAP) and MS Office applications
• Analytical, structured, and independent working style
• Fluent German and English language skills for business negotiations
• High willingness to travel domestically and internationally
