Building Engineer

The Opportunity

As a Building Engineer at JLL, you'll play a vital role in the daily operations of commercial properties and facilities. This is more than maintenance—you'll oversee mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and implement preventive maintenance programs that maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Your work directly impacts tenant satisfaction, operational costs, and the long-term value of the properties you support.

Your Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire suppression equipment
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure systems operate at peak performance
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs from tenants and facility management
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs and equipment records for compliance and tracking purposes
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized system repairs and upgrades
• Test and inspect life safety systems to ensure they meet code requirements and regulations
• Support capital improvement projects and facility upgrades as assigned

Who We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED; technical certification in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems is preferred
• Proven experience as a Building Engineer, Facilities Technician, or similar role
• Strong understanding of building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and controls
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks and work in various building environments
• Professional communication skills and a commitment to customer service
