About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology organization building next-generation intelligent applications. Our client is scaling rapidly and needs an exceptional technical leader to own architecture, engineering standards, and technology strategy across multiple product lines. This is a hands-on CTO role for someone who can set technical direction while remaining deeply involved in systems design, infrastructure decisions, and engineering excellence.
Responsibilities
- Own architecture and major technical decisions across group products and platforms
- Review critical systems, architecture, infrastructure, and code directly
- Set engineering standards for reliability, security, performance, testing, and code quality
- Identify technical debt and architecture constraints; drive resolution initiatives
- Improve engineering productivity, development velocity, and production reliability
- Determine where technology and infrastructure should be shared across business units
- Recruit and assess senior engineers, technical leads, and engineering leadership
- Make strategic technology decisions that balance immediate needs with long-term scalability
What We're Looking For
- Deep software engineering background with proven experience building and scaling production systems
- Strong expertise in backend systems, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems
- Track record making architecture decisions across multiple products or engineering teams
- Excellent technical judgement with ability to challenge engineering decisions at implementation level
- Demonstrated success building world-class engineering teams
- Hands-on technical capability - able to review code, architecture, incidents, and complex engineering problems directly
- Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth technology environments
- Strong communication skills to influence technical and business stakeholders
