About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential engineering and professional services organization in their search for a Power & Energy Project Manager. This is a remote-eligible opportunity based in the United States, with periodic travel required for face-to-face meetings. Multiple locations will be considered including New York, Maine, Texas, Indiana, California, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Ohio, Washington, Oregon, and Nebraska.

Our client seeks a seasoned project leader to provide high-level technical and administrative guidance across EHV transmission and substation projects. This role encompasses full project lifecycle management—from proposal development through closeout—with oversight of financial performance, technical execution, client satisfaction, quality, safety, and schedule adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead moderate to large-scale, regionally scoped power and energy projects from initiation through completion
  • Coordinate across all management levels and technical disciplines to support project cost and schedule objectives
  • Develop project proposals, cost estimates, scope definitions, schedules, and resource allocation plans
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and change management processes
  • Deliver regular project reporting and updates to clients and business leaders, proactively identifying scope, risk, and budget issues with appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Serve as primary client relationship manager, building long-term partnerships through consistent communication and tailored solutions
  • Enforce safety regulations and project safety standards throughout all project phases
  • Develop and standardize processes to improve project delivery efficiency
  • Exercise ethical decision-making regarding resources and adhere to corporate conduct policies

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or related technical discipline—or equivalent professional experience within an A/E/C firm, utility, EPC, or power delivery consulting environment
  • 10+ years of post-education experience in project management within the power and energy industry
  • Highly proficient understanding of project delivery processes with demonstrated experience managing projects through various delivery models (Design-Bid-Build, EPC, Progressive Design-Build)
  • Advanced analytical, organizational, and business acumen skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively engage leadership, subcontractors, and employees at all organizational levels
  • Strong self-leadership with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently while providing guidance and leadership to mid-level and senior team members
  • Advanced proficiency with technical writing, MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint), and project management tools
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit cooperation across diverse stakeholders, including senior management, subcontractors, consultants, and cross-functional teams
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and project-specific needs
  • Proven track record of workplace safety and adherence to health, safety, and conduct policies
  • Authorization to work in the United States
