Part Time Inpatient Telephonic Staff Pharmacist (Evenings / Overnight)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare organization seeking a Part-Time Inpatient Telephonic Staff Pharmacist for remote work. This role provides telepharmacy services to multiple hospital clients across various states, supporting clinical excellence and safe medication practices during evening, overnight, and weekend shifts. You are expected to work at least 1-2 shifts every two weeks, with scheduling flexibility discussed during the interview process.

Responsibilities

• Perform remote order entry, order verification, drug verification, and patient/staff counseling via telepharmacy platforms
• Support multiple hospital clients and operate within various pharmacy information systems
• Provide proactive clinical pharmacy services including drug information, therapeutic recommendations, dosing adjustments, interaction reviews, and compatibility assessments
• Deliver guidance on IV fluids, TPN, narcotic/cardiac drips, IV antibiotics, chemotherapy, and other complex therapies
• Counsel patients, nurses, and medical staff on safe medication use for special populations including pediatric, geriatric, pregnant/nursing, and patients with renal/hepatic impairment
• Investigate and resolve medication variances within 48 hours
• Document all orders, interventions, and recommendations by end of shift
• Maintain compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and internal policies
• Perform basic troubleshooting during system or connectivity issues
• Obtain and maintain multiple state pharmacist licenses as required
• Participate in ongoing training including clinical updates and policy changes

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
• Active pharmacist license in good standing (Pennsylvania and/or Ohio required)
• Additional state licenses preferred: MA, RI, DE, ME, NH, CT
• At least 2+ years of inpatient hospital experience preferred
• Overnight inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred
• Hospital residency preferred but not required
• Board certification preferred but not required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated customer service excellence
• Knowledge of formulary management and P&T procedures
• Familiarity with client/server applications and pharmacy information systems
• Proficiency in MS Office, Google Drive, internet, and email
• Reliable home internet connection via cable broadband or fiber optic service with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload
• Ability to work effectively with VPNs, automation systems, and common software tools
