What This Role Involves
As an entry-level HVAC design professional at CRB, you'll work alongside experienced engineers to develop and refine heating and cooling system designs for commercial and institutional buildings. You'll learn industry-standard practices while contributing meaningful work from day one, collaborating with our Mississauga-based engineering hub regardless of where you're based.
Core Duties
- Prepare HVAC system drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard CAD and design software
- Conduct load calculations and sizing analyses for heating and cooling equipment
- Develop duct and piping layouts coordinated with architectural and structural plans
- Research products and equipment options to support system design recommendations
- Document technical designs clearly for construction administration and contractor guidance
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other consultants on multidisciplinary project teams
- Apply building codes and mechanical standards to ensure compliant system designs
What We're Looking For
- Recent graduate or near-completion of a degree in mechanical engineering or HVAC technology
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable design software
- Foundational knowledge of HVAC principles, thermodynamics, and system types
- Understanding of Canadian building codes and mechanical standards
- Strong communication and technical writing abilities
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a professional team
- Detail-oriented approach to design documentation and drawing accuracy
