What This Role Involves

As an Electrical Engineer II at CRB, you'll design, develop, and oversee electrical systems and components across complex engineering projects. Working in a collaborative environment, you'll combine technical expertise with problem-solving to deliver solutions that meet rigorous industry standards. Your work will span from concept and analysis through testing and implementation, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyse electrical systems, circuits, and equipment specifications for client and internal projects
  • Prepare detailed technical drawings, schematics, and documentation using industry-standard CAD and design tools
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and performance evaluations for electrical solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical and civil engineers to integrate electrical components into larger systems
  • Review and quality-assure work from junior team members and contribute to technical mentoring
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in site inspections, testing, and commissioning activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design methodologies and best practices

Skills & Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering (PE) licence or Engineer in Training (EIT) credential in Canada; PE licence preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • Minimum 5–7 years of professional electrical engineering experience
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (National Building Code, CSA standards, etc.)
  • Demonstrated expertise in power systems, control systems, or equipment design (depending on specialisation)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment
