Position Summary

The Hawk Tech Associate role is central to student success at Hillsborough Community College. You'll deliver individualized technical support in both in-person and online settings, ensuring students can confidently use the technology tools required for their coursework. Based primarily in the college library, you'll maintain computer systems and provide direct assistance to students navigating academic platforms and software.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct, one-on-one technical support to students in the library and through remote assistance channels
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues preventing students from accessing coursework and academic resources
• Guide students through college-approved learning management systems and academic technology platforms
• Manage and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and lab equipment to ensure reliable operation
• Document technical problems and solutions to track common issues and improve support processes
• Communicate technical information clearly to students with diverse technical backgrounds and abilities
• Maintain a professional, welcoming demeanor that builds student confidence in seeking tech support

Requirements

• Solid troubleshooting experience with Windows and macOS operating systems
• Ability to communicate technical concepts in clear, accessible language
• Strong customer service orientation and genuine interest in helping students succeed
• Professional reliability and a positive attitude in a student-focused environment
• Flexibility for part-time scheduling that may include evening or weekend availability
• Prior experience with learning management systems or academic technology support is valued
