Designer

The Jones Payne Group, an architecture and planning firm located in Queen Park, Chittenden County, is seeking a full-time Designer to contribute to projects that improve how communities live, learn, and connect. You'll work alongside architects, planners, and specialists to develop thoughtful design solutions for building renovations and community enhancement initiatives.

About the Role

As a Designer at The Jones Payne Group, you'll help translate creative vision into practical design solutions for renovation projects, public spaces, and community planning efforts. This position plays a key role in our mission to enhance existing buildings and neighborhoods through collaborative, thoughtful design work that serves real community needs.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Generate design concepts and visual presentations for building rehabilitation and community projects
• Produce technical drawings and design documentation working with architects and project managers
• Engage in site analysis, community consultation, and stakeholder meetings
• Iterate on design solutions based on feedback, constraints, and client objectives
• Research design approaches, materials, systems, and precedent examples to inform project work
• Prepare design materials and presentations for client meetings and project reviews

Who We're Looking For

• Expertise with architecture and planning design software and digital tools
• Strong ability to communicate visually and present design ideas clearly
• Collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams
• High standards for accuracy and quality in all deliverables
• Passion for sustainable and community-focused design approaches
• Design, architecture, or related educational background (or equivalent professional experience)
