About This Position
The Per Diem Educational Consultant (Grades 9-12 Math) serves as an onsite representative within California school districts and schools, partnering with district and school leadership to drive instructional transformation. You'll deliver professional development in core mathematics content, intervention and supplemental instructional strategies, while providing change of practice support and job-embedded coaching. This role combines traditional consulting with hands-on school-based support to ensure educators can implement new practices effectively in their classrooms and schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver professional development for secondary mathematics teachers focused on core content, intervention strategies, and supplemental instruction
- Provide change of practice coaching to support educators in implementing new instructional approaches and pedagogies
- Deliver job-embedded support services within school environments, working alongside teachers and instructional leaders
- Facilitate both individual and group consultation sessions with district personnel and school faculty
- Assess district and school needs to customize professional learning experiences and improvement initiatives
- Model effective secondary mathematics instruction and lead collaborative learning communities
Qualifications
- Substantial experience teaching grades 9-12 mathematics or proven expertise in secondary math education and instructional practice
- Track record of successfully working with school teams, teachers, and district-level stakeholders
- Excellent presentation and adult learning facilitation skills
- Knowledge of instructional best practices and data-driven improvement strategies for mathematics education
- Willingness to travel to multiple school sites throughout California as required for this onsite role
