About This Position

As a QI Certified Inspector, you'll serve as a quality assurance professional responsible for conducting final inspections on critical parts before they leave our facility. Working within our Quality Improvement Department and reporting directly to the Inspection Coordinator, you'll apply your certification and precision expertise to verify that each component adheres to customer requirements and quality standards. This role is essential to maintaining the high standards our customers depend on and protecting Ahresty Wilmington's reputation for excellence.

Your Responsibilities

  • Perform certified final inspections on critical components using approved inspection standards and procedures
  • Verify that part specifications match customer drawings and written requirements exactly
  • Operate precision measurement tools and inspection equipment to check dimensions and tolerances
  • Document all inspection findings accurately and maintain detailed quality records
  • Identify and report any defects, non-conformances, or areas of concern to quality leadership
  • Ensure inspection processes are followed in the correct sequence and order as defined by quality procedures
  • Communicate quality issues promptly to prevent defective parts from reaching customers

Skills & Qualifications

  • Current QI (Quality Inspector) certification or equivalent quality inspection credential
  • Proven experience conducting inspections on precision parts or components
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools and gauging equipment
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards, blueprints, and inspection methodologies
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Ability to follow written procedures and standards consistently
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training or associate degree preferred)
