High School AP Computer Teacher

Stride, Inc. is seeking a full-time High School AP Computer Teacher in Lansing, Ingham County to design engaging curricula and guide students through advanced computer science concepts in preparation for AP certification.

About the Role

This position offers the opportunity to teach Advanced Placement Computer Science at the high school level in Lansing. You'll work with motivated students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills through rigorous coursework, hands-on programming projects, and exam preparation aligned with College Board standards and AP expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive AP Computer Science curriculum meeting College Board standards
• Instruct high school students in programming, algorithms, data structures, and computational thinking
• Design assessments and provide feedback to measure student understanding and academic progress
• Prepare students for AP Computer Science exams through focused instruction and practice opportunities
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that accommodates diverse learning styles
• Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues regarding performance and course expectations

Requirements

• Michigan Teaching Certification (required)
• Computer Technology certificate or equivalent qualification (preferred)
• Strong knowledge of computer science principles, programming languages, and instructional best practices
• Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate high school students in a classroom setting
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth in computer science education
