As Assistant Cross Country Coach II, you'll play a key part in supporting the cross country program at King's Schools. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and implementing training programs for cross country runners
- Conduct practice sessions focusing on technique, endurance, and race preparation
- Support athlete development through individualized feedback and mentorship
- Assist with meet preparation, pacing strategy, and in-competition coaching
- Contribute to team culture and athlete engagement both on and off the course
- Maintain communication with athletes, families, and coaching staff
Requirements
- Proven experience coaching cross country or distance running
- Strong knowledge of training principles, running biomechanics, and race strategy
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with head coaching staff and school administration
- Commitment to athlete safety, development, and well-being
- Experience working in a school or youth athletic setting preferred
