Position Summary
This travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant role places you in a fast-paced healthcare environment where you'll collaborate with occupational therapists to help patients regain independence and improve quality of life. Working 40 hours per week on day shifts, you'll deliver evidence-based therapy support to diverse patient populations across a 13-week contract starting as soon as possible. Your Responsibilities
- Assist occupational therapists in designing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Guide patients through therapeutic activities targeting motor skills, coordination, and functional independence
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADL) and adaptive techniques
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes
- Set up and manage therapeutic equipment and adaptive devices
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and adaptive strategies
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care
Requirements
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license or COTA-L credential valid in New Mexico
- Active CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain before assignment start
- Minimum 1 year of recent occupational therapy experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and healthcare teams
- Ability to physically assist patients with transfers and therapeutic positioning
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a travel staffing model
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
