Cybersecurity Validator (IV&V) / Active Secret with Security Clearance

Peraton seeks a Cybersecurity Validator for an Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) role based in Kansas City, Jackson County. This full-time position involves security testing, validation, and assessment work supporting national security missions.

About the Role

As a Cybersecurity Validator specializing in IV&V, you will provide critical independent assessment of security systems, architectures, and implementations. This role bridges technical validation expertise and security assurance, ensuring that security controls and systems meet intended specifications and regulatory requirements. Your work directly supports mission success by identifying vulnerabilities, validating security posture, and recommending improvements before systems reach operational status.

Core Duties

• Conduct independent testing and validation of security systems, controls, and technologies
• Execute security assessments and vulnerability evaluations across infrastructure and applications
• Verify compliance with security standards, frameworks, and organizational policies
• Document findings, create detailed test reports, and present recommendations to stakeholders
• Analyze threat models and validate incident response procedures
• Support remediation efforts and validate security improvements
• Participate in security reviews throughout the system development lifecycle

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance (required to start)
• Professional experience in cybersecurity testing, validation, or IV&V activities
• Working knowledge of security assessment methodologies and frameworks (NIST, OWASP, or equivalent)
• Demonstrated expertise with security testing tools and vulnerability assessment platforms
• Strong technical foundation in network security, system hardening, or security architecture
• Ability to write clear, comprehensive technical documentation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
