What This Role Involves

As a Learning Commons Graduate Assistant focused on supplemental review sessions, you'll work directly with students preparing for exams and mastering course content. You'll lead structured review sessions that reinforce key concepts, answer student questions, and help learners build confidence in their coursework. This position bridges academic support and student success, allowing you to make a tangible impact on undergraduate and graduate student achievement across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate supplemental review sessions for courses across various departments and difficulty levels
• Collaborate with faculty and course instructors to understand learning objectives and assessment priorities
• Develop or adapt study materials, practice problems, and review guides tailored to student needs
• Track attendance and document session outcomes to support continuous program improvement
• Provide individual and small-group tutoring support as needed within your area of expertise
• Gather student feedback and adjust review session content to address knowledge gaps

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled graduate student or recent master's degree holder in a relevant discipline
• Strong mastery of at least one subject area where you'll lead review sessions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and empathy for diverse learners
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt explanations to different learning styles
• Organized, reliable, and comfortable managing multiple review sessions each week
• Experience working in an academic or educational support environment is preferred
