Food Service Director

Sunapee Cove is hiring a Food Service Director in Sunapee, Sullivan County to lead our food services operations. This full-time, exempt position offers the opportunity to manage all aspects of food production, culinary service, and team leadership.

About This Position

As Food Service Director, you'll play a central role in delivering exceptional dining experiences at Sunapee Cove. Reporting to our Executive Director, you'll have full authority over the food services department, including menu planning, staff management, food procurement, and operational standards. This position requires both culinary expertise and strong administrative leadership to ensure quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction across all food service functions.

What You'll Do

• Direct all food services operations, including kitchen management, meal preparation, and dining service
• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise food services staff including cooks, kitchen assistants, and servers
• Develop menus that meet nutritional standards while reflecting seasonal availability and guest preferences
• Source, order, and manage food and supply inventory to optimize freshness and cost-effectiveness
• Monitor food costs against budget targets and implement cost controls without sacrificing quality
• Ensure strict adherence to food safety protocols, kitchen sanitation standards, and health regulations
• Establish and maintain service standards that consistently deliver positive guest experiences
• Coordinate with other departments to support special events and catering requests

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience as a Food Service Director, Executive Chef, or in a similar culinary leadership role
• Deep knowledge of food safety standards, kitchen operations, and food service best practices
• Proven track record in staff hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
• Strong budget management and financial acumen for food costs and operational expenses
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with staff, management, and guests
• Ability to maintain composure and drive quality standards consistently
