Petes Tire Barns is seeking a full-time Retread Tire Technician to work at our US facility, where you'll operate specialized equipment to rebuild and repair tires. This is a hands-on technical role with excellent earning potential and sign-on incentives for committed team members.
About This Position
We're looking for a detail-oriented technician to join our tire rebuilding operations. As a Retread Tire Technician, you'll work full-time in a manufacturing environment, handling the complete tire refurbishment and retreading process. Successful candidates receive a $500 sign-on bonus after three months and an additional $1,000 bonus at the one-year mark—rewarding your commitment and performance.
Your Responsibilities
- Conduct initial inspections of tires to assess repair feasibility and structural integrity
- Operate buffing machines to prepare tire surfaces for repair and retreading
- Heat, seal, and repair tire components using specialized equipment and proven techniques
- Rebuild tires from rubber components, ensuring quality meets industry and company standards
- Use shearography and diagnostic tools to evaluate tire condition and guide repair decisions
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow all safety protocols during operations
Qualifications
- Ability to operate machines using control mechanisms and direct physical manipulation
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail in quality-critical work
- Willingness to learn tire inspection, buffing, repair, and rebuilding techniques
- Reliable attendance and demonstrated commitment to workplace safety
