Role Overview

As a travel nurse RN in our Post Anesthesia Care Unit, you'll provide high-quality recovery care to patients emerging from anesthesia. This temporary assignment places you in a dynamic clinical environment where your specialized skills in PACU nursing make a direct difference in patient outcomes. Working 40 hours weekly across day and night shifts on a 10-hour rotation, you'll deliver personalized assessment, monitoring, and intervention during this critical post-operative period.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients as they recover from anesthesia, tracking vital signs, level of consciousness, and pain management needs
• Administer prescribed medications and manage intravenous lines, oxygen therapy, and other post-operative treatments
• Communicate effectively with surgical teams and anesthesia providers to ensure coordinated patient care
• Document patient progress and clinical observations in medical records with accuracy and timeliness
• Identify and respond to complications or adverse reactions during the recovery phase
• Prepare patients for transfer to inpatient units or discharge as clinically appropriate

What We're Looking For

• Current RN license in Washington or compact state licensure recognized in Washington
• Minimum 2 years of recent Post Anesthesia Care Unit experience required
• Strong assessment skills and ability to manage complex, rapidly changing patient conditions
• Professional communication and teamwork across interdisciplinary surgical teams
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts on 10-hour schedules
