Local Contract Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

HiredFirst is hiring a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our clinical team at a skilled nursing facility in Spokane, Spokane County. This 13-week position offers hands-on experience in patient care and occupational therapy support in a dynamic healthcare setting.

About the Role

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you'll work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, delivering evidence-based therapy services to skilled nursing facility residents. Your role centers on helping patients regain independence and improve their functional abilities through structured therapeutic activities and adaptive techniques. You'll support the occupational therapy team in a fast-paced SNF environment where your clinical skills directly impact patient outcomes and recovery.

What You'll Do

• Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising OT
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility goals
• Conduct therapeutic activities and exercises tailored to individual patient needs
• Monitor and document patient progress during each therapy session
• Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques and home safety strategies
• Maintain therapy equipment, supplies, and treatment spaces
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient care goals

Requirements

• Current COTA certification (AOTA certified or eligible)
• Valid occupational therapy assistant license for the state of Washington
• CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a clinical team
• Physical capability to assist patients with mobility and positioning
• Background check clearance
