Role Overview

As a Mid-Market Account Executive specializing in new business, you'll identify and close deals with mid-market organizations seeking to modernize their communications infrastructure through APIs and cloud platforms. You'll own the full sales cycle, from prospecting through negotiation, positioning Vonage's suite of communications solutions to organizations ready to build custom omnichannel experiences. Your success directly shapes how businesses communicate with customers, employees, and partners at scale.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify mid-market prospects who need modern communications APIs and CPaaS solutions
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand technical and business requirements, then map Vonage's platform capabilities to their needs
  • Build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders within target accounts, from technical architects to procurement
  • Prepare customized proposals and pricing for API-driven communications use cases
  • Negotiate contracts and close new business deals within your territory
  • Coordinate with sales engineering and product teams to address customer requirements and accelerate deals
  • Track pipeline activity, forecast revenue, and report on sales metrics and activity

What We're Looking For

  • Proven track record closing new business deals in mid-market B2B SaaS, cloud platforms, or APIs
  • Strong understanding of cloud communications, APIs, or related enterprise software markets
  • Ability to engage technical buyers and business stakeholders simultaneously
  • Experience navigating complex sales cycles and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Self-directed approach with ability to prospect, qualify, and advance deals independently
  • US-based with ability to travel occasionally for customer meetings
