What This Role Involves

As Principal Network Development Engineer, you'll lead the design and evolution of advanced cluster networking systems, with a focus on RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access) technologies. This is a hands-on technical leadership position where you'll drive innovation in network infrastructure that supports Oracle's most demanding computing workloads, from large-scale AI model training to scientific computing. You'll combine deep systems expertise with strategic vision to shape how Oracle's network foundation evolves.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and optimize cluster networking architectures for high-performance and AI/ML workloads
• Develop networking software and protocols focused on RDMA and low-latency communication
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate networking solutions into Oracle's broader infrastructure
• Conduct performance analysis and troubleshooting of complex networking systems at scale
• Mentor engineers and guide technical direction for networking development initiatives
• Contribute to architectural decisions that balance performance, reliability, and scalability

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in network architecture, kernel networking, and protocol design
• Demonstrated experience with RDMA, InfiniBand, or similar high-performance networking technologies
• Strong systems programming background and proficiency in C/C++ or related languages
• Proven track record of leading complex technical projects and mentoring teams
• Advanced understanding of HPC (High-Performance Compute) and machine learning infrastructure requirements
• Experience optimizing networked systems for latency, throughput, and reliability
