Forestry Technician 1

Join Stella Jones as a Forestry Technician 1 in Springhill, Webster Parish, supporting field operations that fuel our production facility. This is a full-time position where you'll play a vital role in sourcing and preparing raw materials for our manufacturing processes.

About the Role

As a Forestry Technician 1, you'll work alongside the Forester-Buyer to ensure a steady, reliable flow of raw materials that meet our production yard's needs. You'll handle hands-on forestry work in the field, from material identification through site preparation, while maintaining the quality and safety standards our operation depends on.

Key Responsibilities

• Mark poles and identify timber according to company specifications and grading standards
• Perform timber cruising activities to assess material availability and quality
• Flag and verify boundary lines at harvest sites to ensure accurate operations
• Conduct routine inspections of active logging operations to verify compliance with harvesting protocols
• Coordinate with field crews to maintain consistent monthly supply targets to the production yard
• Document findings and maintain accurate field records for tracking and compliance

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in forestry, logging, land management, or related field work
• Ability to identify tree species, assess timber quality, and understand forestry practices
• Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specifications precisely
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple sites
• Clear communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
