What You'll Do

• Design and implement bioinformatics pipelines for genomic data analysis, from raw sequencing data through statistical processing and interpretation
• Conduct statistical genomics analyses, including genome-wide association studies (GWAS), population genetics, and comparative genomics
• Develop and apply machine learning models to identify patterns in large, complex biological datasets
• Manage and optimize biological databases and ensure data integrity across research workflows
• Visualize and communicate complex findings through publication-quality figures, reports, and presentations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams to translate biological questions into computational solutions
• Stay current with emerging tools, methods, and best practices in bioinformatics and data science

What We're Looking For

• Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in bioinformatics, computational biology, genetics, or a related quantitative field
• Demonstrated expertise in statistical genomics, sequence analysis, and genomic data interpretation
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, Perl, or Bash; experience with bioinformatics software and tools required
• Proficiency in machine learning concepts and applications in biological research
• Experience with high-performance computing environments and cluster job submission systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative research environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical findings to diverse audiences
