Physician Account Executive

This full-time position plays a critical role in connecting physicians with the laboratory services and clinical intelligence they need to deliver better patient outcomes.

About the Role

The Physician Account Executive serves as Quest Diagnostics' primary point of contact for assigned medical practices and healthcare facilities. You'll be responsible for deepening existing relationships, identifying new opportunities to expand service adoption, and ensuring physicians and their teams have seamless access to our diagnostic testing portfolio and clinical support services.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute account growth strategies tailored to each physician practice's clinical needs and business objectives
• Present Quest Diagnostics testing solutions, technology platforms, and value-added services to practice leaders and clinical staff
• Expand the breadth and depth of diagnostic services utilized by existing accounts
• Partner with internal clinical consultants, logistics, and customer support teams to resolve barriers and maximize service delivery
• Monitor account health, utilization trends, and competitive positioning to identify expansion opportunities
• Build consultative relationships based on understanding physician workflows, patient populations, and practice challenges
• Maintain detailed account records and reporting to support forecasting and management visibility

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in account management, business development, or medical sales, ideally in clinical laboratory, diagnostics, or healthcare services
• Strong understanding of how physician practices operate and the clinical decision-making process
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex diagnostic concepts clearly
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport, earn trust, and influence key decision-makers
• Self-motivated track record of exceeding growth targets and managing multiple accounts simultaneously
• Willingness to travel regularly to meet with provider clients in the field
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field
