About the Role
This is a full-time opportunity to apply your advanced technical skills at a family-owned Ford dealership serving Santa Cruz County since the 1980s. You'll work on a diverse range of vehicles—from light-duty to heavy-duty models—focusing on transmission repair, diagnostics, and system overhaul. You'll have access to modern shop equipment, factory technical resources, and ongoing training to stay current with evolving Ford technology and industry standards.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair transmission and heavy-duty drivetrain systems using factory-approved tools and methods
- Perform complete transmission overhauls, component replacement, and fluid service on Ford and commercial vehicles
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electronic transmission issues using diagnostic equipment and service manuals
- Inspect, test, and validate repairs to ensure safety and performance specifications are met
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate findings and timelines clearly to service advisors and customers
- Follow all workplace safety protocols and quality standards in a professional dealership service facility
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Technician, Transmission Technician, or equivalent role in a dealership or repair shop
- Strong diagnostic and hands-on repair capabilities with transmissions and drivetrain components
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools, service manuals, and computer-based diagnostic systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative service team
- ASE certification or equivalent technical credentials strongly preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the Soquel location
