About the Role

As a Yunnanese Interpreter with Language Line, you'll provide accurate, culturally competent interpretation services that enable meaningful communication between limited-English-speaking Yunnanese speakers and professionals in critical industries. Your work directly supports access to essential services and removes barriers that affect people's ability to navigate American systems and institutions.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver real-time interpretation across phone and video platforms, maintaining complete accuracy and professional demeanor
  • Interpret in both directions between Yunnanese and English, adapting communication styles to the context and needs of all parties
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to a professional code of ethics in all interactions
  • Build and maintain proficiency in interpreting terminology across healthcare, legal, and business contexts
  • Manage multiple assignments according to your schedule flexibility while meeting quality and punctuality standards

What We're Looking For

  • Fluent, native or near-native proficiency in Yunnanese and English
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting professionally, whether through formal training, certification, or substantial work experience
  • Strong listening, cultural awareness, and ability to convey meaning with precision across languages and contexts
  • Reliability, discretion, and professional judgment in handling sensitive communications
  • Availability to work part-time assignments that fit your schedule
