Position Summary

The Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Services leads and directs a comprehensive portfolio of student-centered initiatives and support services. In this role, you will partner with campus leadership to strengthen programs that enhance student development, retention, and academic success. You'll oversee strategic planning, policy implementation, and resource allocation across multiple student service divisions, ensuring every student has access to the resources they need to thrive.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of student services professionals, providing guidance on program development and staff performance
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives that support student engagement, retention, and holistic well-being
  • Coordinate with academic departments, residential life, counseling, accessibility services, and student affairs divisions to align services with institutional goals
  • Manage budgets and operational resources for student services departments and programs
  • Assess program effectiveness through data collection and outcome measurement, using insights to drive continuous improvement
  • Represent student services in cross-functional campus committees and stakeholder meetings
  • Respond to student concerns and systemic challenges in collaboration with colleagues

Requirements

  • Master's degree in student affairs, higher education administration, or a closely related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in student services, student affairs, or higher education administration
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and overseeing departmental or divisional operations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build productive relationships across diverse campus constituencies
  • Experience with student development theory and best practices in student support programming
  • Proficiency with data analysis, assessment, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment that serves all students
