Good Samaritan is seeking a Director of Nursing - RN for our long-term care facility in Dolliver, Emmet County. This is a full-time position leading our clinical nursing team to deliver compassionate, quality care in alignment with our Christian values.
About the Role
As Director of Nursing in our long-term care community, you'll provide clinical leadership and strategic oversight of nursing operations. This role shapes quality standards, patient safety practices, and care philosophy across our nursing department, reporting directly to facility leadership. You'll mentor nursing staff, manage evidence-based clinical protocols, and ensure residents receive dignified, person-centered care rooted in our commitment to serving seniors with respect and compassion.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Supervise and evaluate nursing staff, including RNs and certified nursing assistants
- Develop and implement clinical policies and care protocols aligned with best practices
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities
- Assess resident care needs, oversee care planning, and adjust care standards as appropriate
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes
- Manage nursing department operations, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Monitor quality metrics, incident reporting, and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license required
- Proven nursing experience in long-term care, senior living, or related clinical setting
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a supervisory or clinical nursing role
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations and quality standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
