Registered Nurse CVOR Pediatrics

This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide direct perioperative care to pediatric patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures in a dynamic, specialized surgical environment.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in our Pediatric CVOR unit, you'll be at the center of delivering high-quality surgical nursing care to children requiring cardiovascular intervention. This role demands both technical expertise and compassion as you support our surgical teams and families through critical moments in their children's care journeys.

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care for pediatric cardiovascular surgical patients, including pre-, intra-, and post-operative phases
• Assist cardiovascular surgeons and surgical teams during procedures, maintaining sterile fields and managing specialized instrumentation
• Monitor and manage patient vital signs, hemodynamic status, and overall clinical stability throughout surgical cases
• Prepare and maintain operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies in accordance with surgical protocols and safety standards
• Document comprehensive patient care records, surgical findings, and nursing interventions according to facility policies and regulatory requirements
• Communicate effectively with anesthesia, surgical, and recovery teams to ensure seamless continuity of care
• Provide patient and family education about procedures and post-operative expectations in an age-appropriate manner
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, HIPAA compliance, and all patient safety standards

What We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure in the state of Colorado
• Experience in perioperative or operating room nursing, with preference for cardiovascular or pediatric specialty experience
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities in fast-paced surgical environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills essential for collaborative surgical teams
• Commitment to patient-centered, compassionate care for children and families
• Ability to adapt to the physical and emotional demands of cardiovascular pediatric nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (or willingness to obtain)
