Lower Merion School District invites experienced lacrosse coaches to apply for the Girls Varsity Head Lacrosse Coach position at our high school in Ardmore, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. This part-time role offers the opportunity to build and mentor a competitive varsity program while developing young athletes in skill, strategy, and character.
About the Role
Lead the girls lacrosse program at Lower Merion High School with responsibility for all aspects of the varsity team. You'll work within our athletic department to create a program that emphasizes competitive excellence, athlete development, and alignment with school and district values.
What You'll Do
- Design and conduct practice sessions focused on lacrosse fundamentals, game strategy, and team chemistry
- Manage game preparation, team selection, and in-game coaching decisions
- Develop athletes across all skill levels while maintaining competitive standards and PIAA compliance
- Build a positive, inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and academic commitment
- Coordinate equipment, facilities, and team logistics with the athletic department
- Maintain team records, player statistics, and required compliance documentation
- Collaborate with athletic director, school administration, and coaching colleagues
- Attend all practices, games, tournaments, and athletic department meetings during the season
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated expertise in girls lacrosse techniques, rules, and competitive strategies
- Coaching experience at the high school varsity level or equivalent competitive setting
- Proven ability to teach and develop student-athletes of varying skill levels
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with athletes, families, and staff
- Current or ability to obtain required clearances: Pennsylvania Criminal Records Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI Fingerprint Results Letter (each less than one year old at time of hire)
