About the Role
As a Commercial Plans Examiner for Lucas County Building Regulations, you'll be at the front line of protecting public safety and code compliance in Toledo and Lucas County. Working Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., you'll review commercial building plans, conduct inspections, and communicate with architects, contractors, and developers to ensure all projects align with county and state building standards.
What You'll Do
- Review and examine commercial building plans for compliance with local and state building codes
- Conduct on-site inspections of commercial construction projects throughout Lucas County
- Communicate findings and code requirements to contractors, architects, and project managers
- Maintain detailed inspection records and project documentation
- Identify code violations and recommend corrective action
- Support the Chief Building Official and departmental objectives
- Collaborate with other county departments as needed for project coordination
