Insurance Tax Manager – United States

PwC is hiring an Insurance Tax Manager for its Charlotte, North Carolina office. In this full-time position, you'll lead tax planning and compliance advisory for insurance clients, helping them navigate complex regulations and optimize their tax positions.

About the Role

As an Insurance Tax Manager at PwC, you'll direct tax strategy engagements with insurance companies, developing solutions for tax planning, regulatory compliance, and tax efficiency. You'll advise senior client leadership, mentor tax professionals, and drive impact within the Insurance Tax practice through technical expertise and strategic counsel.

What You'll Do

• Lead tax advisory engagements focused on planning, strategy, and compliance for insurance industry clients
• Develop tax positions and solutions to help clients manage complex tax regulations in insurance
• Direct tax compliance projects, including return preparation, filing oversight, and regulatory reporting
• Cultivate client relationships through strategic tax guidance and trusted advisory services
• Mentor and develop junior tax professionals on technical expertise and client engagement
• Monitor tax law and insurance industry changes to inform client strategies
• Contribute to business growth and proposal development within the Insurance Tax practice

What We're Looking For

• Substantial professional experience in tax advisory, accounting, or insurance tax operations
• Deep technical knowledge of federal and state tax law and compliance requirements
• Experience or strong understanding of insurance industry tax considerations
• Excellent analytical and communication skills to advise on complex tax matters
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and lead client relationships independently
• Availability to travel up to 20% for client service
