What This Role Involves

As a Manager at PWC, you will lead advisory engagements focused on smart metering systems, intelligent grid technology (iGT), and regulatory navigation across European and emerging regulatory frameworks. Your work bridges technical infrastructure strategy with regulatory compliance, helping utilities and energy organisations optimise their networks whilst meeting evolving EU standards and local mandates. You'll combine deep sector knowledge with structured problem-solving to deliver insights that drive real transformation in how energy systems operate and are governed.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct client engagements on smart metering and iGT modernisation programmes, from strategy through implementation oversight
• Develop bespoke regulatory and compliance roadmaps aligned with EU directives, national frameworks, and industry best practices
• Lead cross-functional teams to diagnose infrastructure gaps, technology readiness, and organisational capability against regulatory expectations
• Synthesise market intelligence and regulatory intelligence into actionable recommendations for energy sector clients
• Build and maintain relationships with senior utility and infrastructure leaders, positioning PWC as a trusted technical and regulatory advisor
• Contribute to thought leadership on grid modernisation, smart metering standards, and energy transition policy

Qualifications

• Proven track record in energy infrastructure, utilities, or adjacent regulated sectors, ideally with exposure to smart metering, grid technology, or EU regulatory environments
• Strong capability in translating technical concepts into business strategy and regulatory compliance
• Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder client engagements and leading professional teams
• Sound understanding of EU energy frameworks, or equivalent emerging-market regulatory contexts
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with C-suite and technical audiences
