Join Expeditors as a Senior Corporate Counsel, Compliance based in Bellevue, King County. This is a full-time leadership position overseeing legal strategy and compliance initiatives for a global logistics and supply chain management company.

About the Role

As Senior Corporate Counsel, Compliance at Expeditors, you'll lead the development and execution of comprehensive compliance programs that support our international operations. You'll serve as a trusted legal advisor to senior leadership, managing enterprise-wide legal risks and ensuring adherence to evolving regulatory requirements across jurisdictions. This role combines strategic legal counsel with hands-on management of compliance frameworks that protect our organization and enable growth.

What You'll Do

• Develop and oversee compliance policies and training programs across the organization
• Advise executives on legal and regulatory risks related to international trade, transportation, and logistics operations
• Review and approve contracts, partnerships, and commercial agreements
• Manage relationships with external counsel and coordinate litigation matters
• Conduct compliance audits and assessments to identify and mitigate legal exposures
• Stay current on regulatory changes affecting the supply chain and global logistics industry
• Build and mentor a compliance team to execute legal strategy effectively
• Report on compliance metrics and legal matters to the Board and executive leadership

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active bar admission in the United States
• 8+ years of in-house legal experience, with demonstrated expertise in compliance and risk management
• Strong knowledge of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and employment law
• Experience in the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry is preferred
• Proven ability to develop and implement compliance programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strategic mindset with ability to advise C-level executives
• Professional judgment and integrity in high-stakes situations
