Cognizant is hiring an OT Technical Lead for its Connected Factory and Digital Manufacturing program, a remote position based in the Chisolm area of Montgomery County. This is a full-time engineering leadership role focused on operational technology strategy and proof-of-concept execution within the life sciences sector.
About the Role
You'll serve as a technical engineering leader embedded in a Delivery POD within Cognizant's Connected Factory Digital Innovation program. Your focus will be architecting and executing end-to-end technical delivery for individual Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll own both strategic direction and technical implementation, working within a structured incubation model designed to validate industrial transformation approaches.
What You'll Do
- Lead the complete technical delivery lifecycle for connected factory and digital manufacturing PoCs in life science environments
- Design and oversee the implementation of operational technology solutions including industrial IoT, automation, and manufacturing execution systems
- Drive cross-functional collaboration within the Delivery POD to ensure technical requirements align with business objectives
- Evaluate and select emerging technologies and platforms for manufacturing digitization and factory connectivity
- Manage technical risks, dependencies, and escalations throughout the PoC engagement cycle
- Mentor team members and establish engineering best practices for OT system integration
- Document technical architectures, deployment strategies, and lessons learned to inform scaling decisions
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a technical leader or architect in operational technology (OT), industrial automation, or manufacturing systems
- Strong background in digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0, or connected factory initiatives
- Hands-on expertise with industrial control systems, SCADA, PLCs, or manufacturing execution platforms
- Demonstrated ability to lead PoC and innovation engagements from conception through validation
- Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or regulated manufacturing environments is highly valued
- Excellent communication skills for translating technical strategy to business stakeholders
- Remote-work proficiency with ability to collaborate across distributed teams
