Leidos is seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer to join our Engineering & Design team in Barrackville, Marion County. In this full-time role, you will direct the design and delivery of overhead and underground transmission line systems for major utility and critical infrastructure clients, ensuring solutions that are safe, reliable, and cost-effective across the energy sector.

About the Role

You will own the end-to-end delivery of transmission line projects—from feasibility assessment through construction support. Your leadership will ensure client requirements translate into robust designs that meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, while maintaining project schedules and budgets.

What You'll Do

  • Direct the design and engineering of overhead and underground transmission line systems for utility clients
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams through all phases of project development and execution
  • Mentor junior engineers and build technical capability within your group
  • Develop project strategies that balance safety, reliability, cost efficiency, and constructability
  • Engage directly with utility and critical infrastructure stakeholders to define scope and deliverables
  • Review designs for compliance with industry codes, regulatory frameworks, and client specifications
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and engineering practices

What We're Looking For

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in civil, electrical, or relevant discipline
  • 10+ years of professional experience in transmission line engineering or utility infrastructure design
  • Demonstrated success leading engineering teams on complex infrastructure projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of overhead and underground transmission design practices
  • Familiarity with utility industry standards and regulatory environments
  • Proficiency with transmission engineering software and CAD platforms
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities
