About the Role

This New Graduate Nurse position in Kansas City, Wyandotte County, is part of the graduate nurse residency program at The University of Kansas Health System. It is designed for recent ADN and BSN nursing graduates who are preparing to launch their professional practice. Openings span multiple divisions, including Acute Care/Progressive Care and Ambulatory Care, giving new nurses the chance to find a specialty that fits their interests while building foundational clinical skills in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered nursing care under the guidance of experienced clinical preceptors and mentors.
• Apply evidence-based practices learned through the graduate nurse residency program to everyday patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians, fellow nurses, and the broader care team to support positive patient outcomes.
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions accurately throughout each shift.
• Develop competencies across your assigned division, whether in acute care, progressive care, or an ambulatory setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited ADN or BSN nursing program as a recent graduate.
• Eligibility for nurse licensure consistent with practicing in Kansas City, Kansas.
• A strong commitment to learning, professional growth, and team-based patient care.
• Availability for full-time, on-site work at the Kansas City Campus (this role is not remote).
