AstraZeneca is seeking an accomplished medical affairs leader to serve as US Medical Head, Dyslipidemia in Wilmington, New Castle County. In this full-time, on-site role, you will shape and direct the medical strategy for AstraZeneca's dyslipidemia portfolio across the United States.

About the Role

As US Medical Head, Dyslipidemia, you will lead the medical affairs function for a therapeutic area focused on lipid management and cardiovascular risk reduction. Based in Wilmington, New Castle County, you will partner with cross-functional teams to translate clinical science into meaningful value for healthcare providers and patients, advancing AstraZeneca's commitment to pioneering medicines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the US medical strategy for the dyslipidemia portfolio in alignment with global objectives.
  • Provide scientific and clinical leadership across launches, evidence generation, and lifecycle planning.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key external experts, clinical investigators, and medical societies.
  • Direct medical education, advisory boards, and the communication of clinical data with full scientific integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial, regulatory, market access, and clinical development partners.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of medical affairs professionals.

Qualifications

  • An advanced clinical or scientific degree (MD, PharmD, or PhD) with relevant therapeutic expertise.
  • Substantial experience in medical affairs within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, ideally in cardiovascular or metabolic disease.
  • Proven leadership of cross-functional teams and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong command of US regulatory and compliance standards governing medical activities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, integrity-driven approach to decision-making.
