About the Role
As an ISS Paraprofessional, you'll supervise students assigned to in-school suspension, creating a focused setting where they can complete assigned work while reflecting on their behavior. Working closely with school administration, you'll help implement discipline policies that reinforce school expectations and support positive student outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Monitor and supervise students in the ISS setting, ensuring compliance with school behavioral expectations
- Maintain a structured, quiet environment conducive to academic work and independent study
- Enforce classroom and school-wide discipline policies consistently and fairly
- Assist students with assigned coursework, reading assignments, and educational activities as directed
- Document student behavior, attendance, and participation during suspension periods
- Communicate with teachers, counselors, and administrators regarding student progress and concerns
- Respond appropriately to behavioral incidents and escalate issues following school protocols
- Support the school's mission of creating a safe, positive learning environment
