Senior Site Specialist Material Planner

AstraZeneca is hiring a Senior Site Specialist Material Planner in Rockville, Montgomery County for our Cell Therapy division. As a full-time member of our team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and resources that enable our groundbreaking cell therapy research and manufacturing operations.

About the Role

In this Senior Site Specialist Material Planner position, you'll support AstraZeneca's Cell Therapy operations in Rockville, where we're developing next-generation cellular therapies targeting some of the world's most serious medical conditions. You'll work at the critical intersection of supply chain management and advanced manufacturing, directly enabling the scientific and operational excellence required to bring innovative therapies to patients globally.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute material planning strategies that support cell therapy research, development, and manufacturing timelines
• Manage inventory levels, procurement forecasts, and supplier relationships to ensure continuity and quality
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and operations to align material requirements with production schedules
• Monitor and optimize material costs, lead times, and supply chain efficiency within regulatory frameworks
• Maintain accurate records and implement system improvements to enhance planning accuracy and visibility
• Support site-wide material management initiatives and contribute to process improvements

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in material planning, supply chain coordination, or site operations within life sciences, manufacturing, or pharmaceuticals
• Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, demand forecasting, and procurement principles
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and quality standards in pharmaceutical manufacturing is valued
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in supply chain, operations, or related field
